Alaska Warrior Partnership

Alaska Warrior Partnership™ (AKWP) is a veteran-focused, community-led initiative to proactively connect with all veterans and ensure access to quality resources and opportunities available in collaboration with the community. Alaska boasts the highest veteran population per capita with more than 65,000 calling Alaska home. The state also hosts one of the largest military installations in the country and while there is a well-knit support structure for active duty and their families; that support structure becomes disjointed and not easily navigated when our service members become veterans. There is a plethora of support and opportunities in Alaska, but many are not aware of them or the benefits they’ve earned.  Likewise, veteran organizations and other community offerings do not have the capacity or can be unaware of how to connect with veterans.

AKWP is standing by to serve veterans, their families, and caregivers in Alaska. Coordinated assistance with veterans’ benefits and connections to local and national resources are just a call away!

Gold Star Peak Inc.

Gold Star Peak, Inc. is a team of Gold Star Families, veterans, service members and their families, that have all seen the devastation that combat has brought from the battlefields to our homes and communities. The organization was formed in direct response to the growing number of individuals and families that continue to struggle from the effects associated with years of continued combat service.

We are an Alaska based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that connects Veterans and Gold Star Family members together in nature, assisting with their overall healing and grieving process. We work independently or through fiscal partnerships with local and national organizations with similar visions.

Our goal is to offer a setting in the outdoors bringing healing to all as well as empowering each to become thriving members within their families and communities.

For our Veterans and Gold Star Families, we provide free of charge, either half or full day adventures in nature surrounded by some of the most peaceful and pristine settings of Alaska. We move entirely at your pace and experience level.

Our half day adventure starts at 8am and finishes by 12pm and our full day adventure starts at 8am and finishes by 4pm.

Half Day Adventures: Hike up to 4.0 miles total with easy to moderate gain in elevation, roughly 300-1500’.

Full Day Adventures: Hike up to 12 miles with a moderate to extreme gain in elevation, roughly 3000-4000’.
