Cohen Veterans Network

About Cohen Veterans Network
Mission & Vision

At Cohen Veterans Network, we seek to improve the quality of life for veterans, including those from the National Guard and Reserves, active duty, and their families. CVN works to strengthen mental health outcomes and complement existing support. Our vision is to ensure that every veteran, active duty service member, and family member is able to obtain access to high-quality care that enables them to lead fulfilling and productive lives. For more information, check out our Get the Facts on CVN page.
Our Approach

Mental wounds are just as difficult to heal as physical wounds – and treating them is just as important. Through our national network of Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics, veterans and their families are eligible for personalized, evidence-based mental health care along with access to comprehensive case management support and referrals to deal with other stresses like unemployment, finances, housing, and legal issues. Our skilled staff has experience working with our nation’s diverse population of veterans, military members and their families.
Our Care
Personalized

We offer targeted, client-centered therapy for a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, adjustment issues, anger, grief and loss, family issues, transition challenges, relationship problems, and children’s behavioral problems. Our high-quality care is centered on therapy options that are the current, best practices available based on research.
Confidential

We will not share your confidential information with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or other public, private, or government entities unless required by law. We comply with federal guidelines set by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Genuine

Our skilled clinicians and staff have been trained to work specifically with veterans and their families, and some are veterans themselves. We build the trusting and confidential relationships necessary to provide excellent, personalized care.
More than Mental Health

We provide support and referrals for related needs including unemployment, housing, finance, and education. Telehealth and childcare are offered on a clinic-by-clinic basis.

Transition to Trades

Transition to Trades

is an approved Career Skills Program (CSP) developed by Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical and U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Campbell. Transition to Trades, launched on July 5, 2016, allows transitioning service members the opportunity to attend Total Tech trade school (a subsidiary of Hiller, LLC) to learn valuable technical career skills while remaining active duty in the U.S. Military.

Total Tech offers a unique approach to technician training through classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in a 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. As part of the program, students are guaranteed an employment interview at a Hiller branch location of their choosing. Service members desiring to return to their hometowns are provided key industry contact information to aid in employment searches in those respective areas.

Our Mission

To provide active duty service members with solid, well-paying, respected career placement options as they transition out of the Army. Careers in Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical are an ideal fit for transitioning service members because of transferable skills developed during their military service. Our goal is to pair these top-tier service members with companies looking to train and employ hardworking individuals for long-term careers.

The Transition to Trades program allows service members to utilize Post 9/11 or Forever GI Bills and start work within weeks, learning from experienced technicians in the field and in state-of-the-art laboratories. We also provide a business network of contractors in the industry who are looking to hire and develop talent in veterans. Transition to Trades is here to help veterans that are transitioning from active duty succeed in their careers.

About Jimmy Hiller

Jimmy Hiller has built an extraordinarily successful, multi-state business on a simple yet powerful concept, “Care is Our Core Value.” When he founded Hiller Plumbing in 1990, Hiller created a business model that focused on three essential elements: a high level of professional skill, a positive attitude and the integrity to do the job right. Customers responded to this straightforward approach, and he rewarded them with a promise that, “Happy You’ll Be or The Service is Free.”

In the years that followed, this two-time Southern Golden Glove boxing champion turned a one-man, one-truck operation into a regional leader, with more than 600 employees and 450 vehicles serving more than 30,000 customers across three states. Since the company’s founding, Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical has made more than a million service calls, and continues to grow at a double-digit pace, with the expansion of its service offering and through targeted acquisitions.

Jimmy continues to be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of Hiller, and has turned his focus to building a new generation of professionals whose commitment to the customer experience is driven by the core values on which his business was originally founded. That’s why Hiller created Transition to Trades. This program allows Jimmy to pass along his 33+ years of experience to transitioning service members who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Waypoint Vets Inc.
Mission

Waypoint Vets is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization with the Mission of Uniting and Empowering Veterans through Activities and Adventure.  We facilitate unique opportunities of Camaraderie and Healing for Military Veterans across America at no cost to them.

OUR ADVENTURES
Waypoint Vets adventures combine mental and physical intensity with the stillness and beauty of nature. Our participants engage in a variety of unique activities and challenges during the day, and evenings are spent reflecting and enjoying camaraderie. We strive to deliver meaningful and lasting experiences that our Veterans can look forward to and reflect upon.

OUR PASSION
The Heartbeat of Waypoint’s Mission is to Honor our Fallen by Living, and by taking back our Health and Happiness together. On each of our Adventures, Veterans carry customized dog tags engraved with names of those we’ve lost both in war and to the war within.

MEANING AND INTENT
A Waypoint is where troops come together to reset, refuel, and recharge; enabling them to continue and complete their mission successfully.  That is exactly what we want our outings to deliver by providing camaraderie, adventure, physical challenges, mental empowerment, and lasting clarity.

Our logo symbolizes the top half of a compass – N, NE, NW – because forward is the direction on which we must focus. The circles represent the ripple effect that we hope to initiate through the clarity and healing that our adventures provide.
