Job Description

KGES is supporting USG1 in seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer for their direct client, a large federal contractor in Goleta, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
• Design the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
• Design the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools, equipment, and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
• Incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan, if necessary.
• Inspect the performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidates must have completed a significant manufacturing engineering project, ideally one where they led a team to accomplish individual project tasks.
• Need to have problem-solving experience; green belt or black belt certification is a plus.
• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience required.

• Work is on-site. Remote work is not possible for this position.
• This position is for our direct client, a large federal contractor.
