Position Title: Social Media Analyst
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Internship
Reports To: Social Media Manager

Position Overview

The Social Media Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of social media platforms to enhance brand presence, engagement, and reach. This role involves data-driven decision-making, reporting on key performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to improve the effectiveness of social media campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Track, measure, and report on the performance of social media campaigns using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite).
    • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on KPIs such as engagement rates, reach, impressions, follower growth, and conversions.
  2. Data Analysis and Insights

    • Analyze trends, audience behavior, and campaign performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Offer actionable insights to optimize content strategy, posting schedules, and platform usage.
  3. Content Optimization

    • Collaborate with the content team to test and refine post formats, captions, hashtags, and media types to maximize engagement.
    • Ensure that all content aligns with brand messaging and audience preferences.
  4. Competitive Analysis

    • Conduct regular analysis of competitors’ social media strategies to benchmark performance and identify best practices.
  5. Audience Engagement and Growth

    • Analyze audience demographics and behavior to inform targeted strategies for follower growth and improved engagement.
    • Monitor sentiment and feedback across platforms, providing recommendations for response strategies.
  6. Tools and Technology

    • Stay updated on the latest social media analytics tools and trends to ensure best practices are applied.
    • Evaluate and implement new tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in social media analytics, digital marketing, or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer).
    • Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
    • Understanding of paid social campaign metrics and reporting.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
