Office Lead: Nicole Burns
Nicole Burns serves as the VETS2INDUSTRY Local Resource Center Lead in Indiana and Ohio, where they support the organization’s mission of connecting veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and their families with career resources, professional networks, and opportunities for long-term success.
In this role, Nicole works to strengthen the local veteran ecosystem by building relationships with community organizations, employers, service providers, and civic leaders. Through these partnerships, they help expand awareness of the free resources, programs, and services offered through VETS2INDUSTRY while ensuring that members of the military-connected community have access to the tools and support they need to successfully navigate career transitions and professional development.
Nicole Burns brings 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, with a professional background that includes leadership, operations, and community-based healthcare services. As the Director of The Designors in Indiana, she has worked closely with the veteran community, supporting their healthcare needs and helping connect them with resources that improve their quality of life. Throughout her career, Nicole has remained committed to helping individuals and organizations grow through collaboration, mentorship, and strong community partnerships.
As a proud supporter of the military community, Nicole’s connection to service runs deep. Both of her grandfathers served during World War II, giving her a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. This personal connection fuels her commitment to ensuring that veterans have access to the resources, opportunities, and support systems they deserve.
As the Local Resource Center Lead for VETS2INDUSTRY, Nicole is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where veterans and their families can connect with community resources, build relationships, and access opportunities that lead to meaningful careers and long-term success.
Co Lead: Tyler Fisherback
Tyler is a dedicated Registered Nurse with over nine years of progressive experience in home health care, supported by a strong clinical foundation in critical care. His career reflects a deep commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and leadership within the healthcare field.
He began their professional journey at Reid Hospital in the Inventory Management Department before transitioning into direct patient care roles as a Certified Nursing Assistant and phlebotomist in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After earning their Registered Nurse (RN) license in 2016, Tyler continued to build advanced clinical expertise in the ICU environment, strengthening their ability to deliver high-quality, acute patient care.
Over the past nine years, Tyler has advanced through a series of leadership roles in home health care, including Field Nurse, Clinical Manager, Administrator, and RN Skilled Trainer. Throughout these roles, he has led clinical teams, managed operations, and developed comprehensive training programs designed to elevate standards in skilled nursing and improve patient outcomes in the home setting.
Passionate about clinical education, quality improvement, and mentorship, Tyler is committed to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals. In the role as Co-Lead of the VETS2INDUSTRY Indiana/Ohio Resource Office, he brings a servant leadership mindset and a dedication to supporting veterans, military spouses, and their families in accessing meaningful career opportunities and resources.
