About the National Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program
Educating, training, and employing our nation’s heroes in cybersecurity.

Vision and Mission
The National Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program, CyberSkills2Work, unites the efforts of U.S. colleges and universities to groom and diversify the next generation of cyber professionals. The program is dedicated to producing qualified professionals to bolster America’s cyberdefense. Its mission is to provide professional development training and job-seeking support to transitioning military personnel, veterans, first responders, and others pursuing the cybersecurity field. CyberSkills2Work aims to bridge the gap between cybersecurity workforce employers in critical infrastructure sectors and professionals trained in cyberdefense.

Our Team
A nationwide coalition of educational institutions and partnering employers make up the CyberSkills2Work team. Scholars from colleges and universities, designated as National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C), develop and offer the program’s training curricula. The University of West Florida Center of Cybersecurity oversees the program and coalition efforts. The institutions collaborate with 40+ businesses in the National Cybersecurity Employers Network to prepare learners for work roles in the cybersecurity field. Learners develop skills that align with and support the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework standards for work roles. Through this partnership, the team provides career development support to meet current cybersecurity workforce needs.

Our Funding
The National Security Agency’s NCAE-C program funds CyberSkills2Work. The NSA, an arm of the U.S. Department of Defense, leads government efforts in cybersecurity intelligence, insight, and combat support. The workforce program, with its NCAE-C designation, spearheads the nation’s charge to advance cybersecurity education as a cyberdefense strategy. Thanks to the NCAE-C program, CyberSkills2Work offers high-caliber education and job resources, free of charge, to accepted program participants.

Whole Cyber Human Initiative

A Bit of Background
Whole Cyber Human Initiative is Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Non-profit built on a community to provide, promote, and evaluate free to inexpensive Cybersecurity Education built of the National Institute Cybersecurity Education (NICE) practical skilling.

Founded by Retired Navy Veteran Paul Cummings, Leah McLean, and the founding Board of Advisors, Whole Cyber is a workforce development research organization with a near 300 years combined Industry Experience.

Their mission is to provide an immersive self-paced program in support of Transitioning Service Members, Veterans, Military Families, and First Responders at no cost. While additionally providing Tier based COHORTS to Veteran Owned Businesses first and globally to any company or organization second.

Imagine a world where no predatory bootcamps and academies exist to take a veteran or military spouses of their hard-earned money for accelerator training on how to take a test. Imagine a world where College and Universities have a direct degree pathway matching the 52 roles of CISA NICE Framework. This world can exist with Whole Cyber Human Initiative and your support.

So What is a Whole Cyber Human?

Whole Cyber Human is defined as a person who has built foundational and practical knowledge holistically in the Information Technology and Cybersecurity space. They are immersed into the full spectrum of cyber and empowered with the training to be force multipliers.

They are often considered career pivoters or potential veteran service members who have obtained critical Mid-Senior level soft and hard skills highly required in the job market.

They are our children in school who have already built an effiency in using technology.

They are the key to securing the next 20 years.

The impetus for the creation of the Whole Cyber Human Initiative is driven from the extreme alleged “talent shortage” that spreads across the globe. These in demand jobs are found vacant while human resources and hiring managers claim they cannot find talent. As leaders we can burn this broken process down and kindle the rebirth of the phoenix by reshaping of how to identify, mold, and acquire a new breed of talent throughout the industry.
