Job Title: Medical Technologist

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Salary: $45 - $55 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and nationally certified Medical Technologist (MT) to join our VA medical team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing services, with a primary focus on chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology. As a Medical Technologist, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy in diagnostic testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive clinical laboratory tests, with a focus on chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results by adhering to established protocols and quality control standards.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to guarantee optimal functionality.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and colleagues to interpret and report laboratory findings.
• Maintain meticulous records of test results, procedures, and patient information.
• Uphold strict safety and infection control protocols in the laboratory.
• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Qualifications:

• National certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) through one of the following: ASCP (MT), ASCP (CLS), ASCP (MLS), or AMT.
• Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate results.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible shift schedule, with the possibility of covering other shifts when necessary.
