Overview
The Director of Workforce Management Excellence will be a trailblazer in creating WFM capabilities and competencies within the ATI Physical Therapy family. This role will help to establish guidelines and best practices that will enable 900+ distributed outpatient Physical Therapy clinics to optimally staff to meet the needs of our patients while also ensuring ATI is the employer of choice for Physical Therapy Professionals. This will include conducting engineered time studies to develop labor standards for all existing processes and tasks, establishing roster guidelines for all clinics based on each clinic’s unique characteristics, innovating schedule templates and tools, working closely with Finance and the Field organization to create annual plans and budgets, and optimizing staffing levels across the organization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and confident in conducting time studies and creating tools and processes while also being adept at leadership capabilities to develop the right roadmap, prioritization, and change management. This will be a highly visible role – interacting regularly with executive leadership roles including: The COO and Vice Presidents and above in the Corporate and Field organizations. This role will afford the right candidate an opportunity to develop in many areas, including: Analytics, problem solving and solution development, strategic planning, project management, FP&A, and presentation development / storytelling. The ideal candidate possesses a unique mix of leadership and communication skills that will propel them to excel in creating innovative solutions that will be shared, adopted, and deployed across our platform of over 900 Outpatient locations.
Responsibilities
• Develop, own, and manage the vision and roadmap for Workforce Management for ATI’s outpatient physical therapy locations. Assess the needs of the business, create a strategic roadmap, influence the organization to adopt the agenda, and create the appropriate budgets and plans to get the roadmap implemented. Over time (after year 1), create the right organizational structure and small team structure to support WFM.
• Establish engineered labor standards for all operational and clinical processes throughout our distributed outpatient Physical Therapy locations. Manage updates to these standards over time, while modeling both the operational (time) and financial impact of process changes and innovation that occur over time and incorporating those changes into labor standards.
• Create roster guidelines for each individual clinic to optimize the right mix of clinicians, clinical support staff, and operational support staff based on the unique characteristics and attributes that impact each clinic. Understand the attributes that matter and develop analytical tools that help to drive roster guideline output. Manage these guidelines over time and continue to refine and enhance them through new learnings.
• Learn and understand current scheduling tools and practices within the ATI environment Establish, then establish a roadmap for process and technology improvement to bring ATI to best-in-class scheduling practices. Innovate, develop, and implement innovations over time.
• Support our Field and Finance organizations through the annual budgeting process as well as ongoing forecast adjustments.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred:
• Industrial Engineering degree and/or MBA preferred
Minimum Experience
Required:
• 7+ years in a workforce management role in a distributed operation (non-call center)
• 2+ years in management role
Preferred:
• Multi-site healthcare and/or retail organization experience preferred
• Consulting background and/or process innovation experience a plus
