Department Overview

The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.

Function/Duties of Position

This position is responsible for BIAA staff management, CANDID Program leadership and stakeholder engagement necessary for the delivery of the CANDID system and associated enterprise BI solutions. Developed by ITG, the CANDID system supports OHSU's faculty compensation and strategic planning efforts by facilitating transparent, consistent, accessible and reliable data integration, collection and reporting to support pay equity, data-driven decision making and visibility into how resources are allocated across the institution. The CANDID program manager serves as the central resource and leader for the development and management of the CANDID systems including the CANDID application and CANDID Analytics functionality.

 

This position is responsible for managing the CANDID project team to ensure performance that promotes excellent customer service, overall service excellence philosophy and the successful implementation and growth of Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics at OHSU. This position’s main areas of focus are (1) staff management and team leadership including, recruitment, development, retention, accountability and oversight of work products; (2) CANDID Program management and system implementation and support; (3) Stakeholder engagement and partnership in the use of BI and analytics; (4) leadership of the Enterprise Business Intelligence Competency (EBIC) team.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and eight years of work-related experience in the information technology field; OR

Advanced degree (master’s or above) and two years of work-related experience in the information technology field

Experience:

  • Must have eight years of cumulative paid working experience in the information technology field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience where two years of experience will be substituted for an Advanced degree
  • Three or more years supervising and leading technical teams
  • Two years or more paid work experience as a Project Manager or leadership position with experience using project management principles for organizing and tracking work
  • Five or more years of experience in BI development, implementation, support or project management.
  • Five years of experience working with a BI reporting tool as a report writer, business/systems analyst, or trainer.
  • Proven leadership and team mentoring skills shown to lead teams toward organizational goals with successful outcomes
  • Significant organizational skills and ability to lead projects from conception, schedule, design, testing, through implementation
  • Experience managing work across functional teams
  • Experience prioritizing work across services lines

Job Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills: both written and verbal.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle and production environment procedures.
  • Effective leadership of highly-skilled, technical personnel in overseeing the development and implementation of BI solutions.
  • Ability to develop and drive enhancements to processes and procedures
  • Experience in process improvement and change management tools and techniques

Preferred Qualifications

This position is currently 100% telework/remote. Candidate must be able to work from home full-time.
