Description
The HireMilitary DoD SkillBridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29 as enacted by 10 U.S.C. Sec 1143. Eligibility is restricted to members of the U.S. Armed Forces separating honorably with greater than 180 days of continuous Active Duty.
Serve as the IT Business Intelligence Data Analyst II to consult with business clients, Data & Analytics technical resources and IT Teams to identify opportunities to organize and provision quality data for business intelligence reporting. Works as a subject matter expert to understand the data and sources, document business and data requirements, and lead/perform organized testing to serve up quality data to meet the needs of the business. Help evangelize the art of the possible via data analytics and business intelligence reporting and help drive maturity in extracting value from the data throughout the organization. This position has 0 direct reports, and reports to VP of Data Analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Consult and work with the business to understand requirements, provision and serve up quality data for business intelligence reporting.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops – taking detailed notes while asking probing questions to ensure we create a data asset that meets the need
- Gather detailed requirements for data provisioning and reporting requests (both business requirements and data requirements)
- Organize and coordinate Unit and Regression testing with QA team members (often doing the testing as well)
- Organize, coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing as internal IT and with business users
- Intake all on-going reporting requirements/enhancements/bugs and communicate to director and/or scrum master to prioritize development, testing, and delivery
- Promote, enable and support self-service business intelligence reporting for the business teams
- Create, maintain and support data analyst process SOPs for the data organization
- Manage team tasks and deliverables in Azure Dev Ops (ADO)
Tasks Within Responsibilities:
- Data mapping – map fields from multiple source systems (new and legacy) to consolidated tables, schemas, views, attributes, KPIs, etc.
- Data Profiling, Data Cleansing, and Data Auditing
- Lead UAT efforts by writing UAT scripts for business users
- Document functional business requirements documents as well as technical data requirements documents
Qualification:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years working in an enterprise Data & Analytics environment
- Power BI certifications and experience leading BI projects, a plus
- Manufacturing industry experience, a plus
- Experience pulling and merging data from multi-ERPs/source systems, required (i.e. the documentation – requirements and mapping not actually pulling the data)
- Requirements gathering experience required
- Data Mapping experience required
- Experience making data usable to the end users
- Experience working in a complex data environment.
- Agile Delivery Experience, a plus
- Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at all levels to understand business requirements.
- Proven data literacy — the ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business and IT stakeholders.
- Analytical skills: outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with business information generation and analysis methods.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to take detailed notes in requirements workshops
- Ability to lead requirements workshops
- Ability to ask probing questions to ensure we have all the requirements
- Ability to drive projects forward/to completion.

Additional Requirements:
Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Ability to occasionally move about the office to support attending various meeting and accessing office equipment as needed.
- Capable to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer as required.
Mental Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Effective working independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask, good prioritization, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Additional Comments:
- A solid understanding and conversant in terminology for data and analytics, business intelligence reporting, development life cycle methodology.
