Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans' Families

Offer experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans and their families. The aim of the program is to open the door to economic opportunity by developing their competencies in creating and sustaining an entrepreneurial venture.

NEW AFSA Family Matters Education Connections Sponsored One-Course Scholarship

AFSA has partnered together with Columbia Southern University (CSU) to provide a sponsored One-Course Scholarship for all Military Veterans/Retirees and AFSA. Family Members; plus all Active Duty, Guard & Reserve Spouses and College-Age Dependents. The One-Course Scholarship is worth over $700, as CSU has also waived the application fee, and will provide free loaner book(s). Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship creates opportunities for family members of service members and Veterans to achieve their educational dreams.

Military Spouse Fellowship Program for Financial Counseling

The FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship program provides military spouses the opportunity to earn the AFC® (Accredited Financial Counselor®) certification—while providing financial counseling and education to the military community. The fellowship covers the costs associated with completing the AFC® training and testing. Created in 2006, this opportunity is made possible through generous funding and support by FINRA Foundation, and in partnership with the National Military Family Association (NMFA). The FINRA Foundation covers the costs of the AFC® training and testing.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts

The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship Program is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance for licenses, certifications, or Associate’s degrees to pursue an occupation or career field.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

Provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate students to promote access to postsecondary education. Students can receive these grants at any one of approximately 4,000 participating postsecondary institutions. Priority is given to those students with “exceptional need” (those with the lowest expected Family contributions, [EFCs], at the institution) and those who are also Federal Pell Grant (see # 84.063, also under topical heading “Federal Student Aid”) recipients.

Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families

Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, is a program that allows eligible grades K-12 and college students in U.S. military families to connect to a live tutor online at any time for one-to-one help with homework, studying, test prep, proofreading and more. The service is available at no charge to all grades K12 students and service members—regardless of whether the service member is serving full-time or part-time—plus some adult dependents in Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve families.

Course Hero Scholarship

To help you on what is often a challenging road, we introduced the Hero Student Scholarship, to provide $5,000/year until graduation. One way for Course Hero to be with you every step of the way.

Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program

If you’re the child or spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died, is captured or missing, or has disabilities, you may be able to get help paying for school or job training through the DEA program—also called Chapter 35.

AMVETS Scholarships

AMVETS’ offers scholarships through our National Service Foundation (NSF) and donations. They are for Veteran (other than dishonorable), Active Duty, Guard, and Reserves; Spouses; and Children/Grandchildren of Veterans, Active Duty, Guard, and Reserves who are currently in high school. The scholarships, up to $12,000, are only for full-time study at an accredited undergraduate college, university, or technical school leading to a non-specific degree.

Allied.com Military Scholarship Competition

Military Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Operational Management Scholarship, available to all those current or former active duty military and their dependents who qualify. Upon the contest’s close date, two lucky winners will be selected to be the recipients of an award totaling $1,000 each.

Ranger Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund

The National Ranger Memorial Foundation annually awards collegiate scholarships to qualified Rangers of all eras and their dependents.

Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Service Members

The Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Service Members (CSDDV) provides scholarships for dependent children or un-remarried spouses of Florida Veterans or Service Members who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service connected 100% permanent and total disabilities.

Patriot Legacy Fund

Provides post-secondary educational scholarships for the dependent children of service-disabled veterans. Scholarships are awarded in the amounts of $2,500 and $5,000 to eligible applicants.

Paralyzed Veterans of America Scholarship

Paralyzed Veterans of America is proud to offer funds to PVA members and their immediate family members through our Educational Scholarship Program. We will award scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to full-time students and $1,000 to part-time students

National Military Family Association Military Spouse Scholarships

NMFA awards can be used for a variety of educational and employment pursuits. Scholarship funds on average are $1,000 and can be used towards degrees, certifications, licensure, clinical supervision for mental health licensure, CEUs, business expenses and more! Any spouse eligible to hold a valid military ID is eligible.

As one of the nation’s largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.
