We are an industry leader in opening access solutions. We have products ranging from steel infrastructure doors and frames, an entrance system group that focuses on revolving doors and sliding doors. If you have ever walked through a CVS or a Target … you have most likely walked through an ASSA product, you just didn’t know it. In addition, we have architectural hardware, locks, gating, fencing, lockers, safes, and a whole technology sector. If you are a soccer fan, anyone who scanned in or out of the World Cup walked through an ASSA product. There is one common thread that unites all of our products and that is safety and security at the core. On a global scale, we employ over 51,000 employees in 70 different countries. We have grown tremendously in the last 15-20 years, mostly due to acquisitions. We have targeted smaller more mid-sized companies that offer products in our wheelhouse. As we continued to get larger, the company broke us down into groups (externally like divisions) and each group focuses on a specific product category, making us an industry leader across multiple categories. If we’re looking at the footprint for the Americans, we have 16 locations --- one in Canada, two in Mexico, and the rest are scattered throughout the US. Although our locations carry some stock items, the majority of what we produce is a custom-engineered product mostly for the commercial markets such as hotels, hospitals, universities, sporting arena, military or defense, etc. I am part of the team that leads recruitment for all 16 of these locations.
