MWR Specialists
LOCATION: Al Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar
Position Summary:
The MWR Specialist is responsible for performing the day-to-day operational tasks for any one of the following functional areas: Housekeeping/Custodial, Community Activities Centers (CAC), Linen Exchange and Media Center. Services provided include but are not limited to; customer service, media support, linen exchange, custodial services, basic facility & equipment maintenance, games, and other supporting activities as specified in the Performance Work Statement. The MWR Specialist reports to the assigned Dept. Manager. Must have at the time of offer and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET or Interim Secret Security Clearance.
SALARY: $54k (other compensation items as well as housing, transportation, and food. 6 weeks PTO)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing all duties required for the operation of installation services.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, customer service, basic maintenance and cleaning, inventory, stocking, basic technical equipment assistance, event setup and break down, linen exchange, etc. as specified in the Performance Work Statement.
- Provides excellent customer service and performs related tasks in functional areas of Recreational Services.
- Shall be courteous to customers and able to identify and verbally communicate all items in English.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
- Responsible for completing all assigned Clients and Government required training courses.
- Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
- Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Preferred: Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
- Relevant overseas experience.
- Previous international experience and previous work experience on Air Force installations.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
- Prior Air Force experience in the Services career field is preferred.
Qualifications & Needed Items:
- High School/GED
- 1+ years in one or more of the following areas:
- Customer service with retail/similar
- Hotel front desk operations
- Restaurant experience.
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Already possess a U.S. Government (USG) issued Secret security clearance or be able obtain a favorable USG Secret clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required clearance level for the duration of the task order.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Current U.S. Passport
- Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear)defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear.
- Must be capable of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license and capable of driving a manual transmission, CDLA and forklift experience preferred.
- Must have Serve-Safe Alcohol Awareness certification if assigned to Lounge/Bartender work.
- Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification to work in any Fitness Center.
- Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
