Allies In Service

llies in Service’s mission was to identify and support veterans who need assistance in the areas of employment, housing, education, and health care. Partnering with veterans, employers and other veteran support organizations, to help educate and enhance the quality of life of all veterans. This page is to recognize the truly outstanding work Vietnam Veteran and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach gave back to his brothers in arms when he founded Allies in Service to reach out to veterans and the community by leveraging an all-encompassing network of support in the areas of employment, housing, education, and health care. Allies in Service’s vision was that our community of service members, veterans, and their families has access to quality healthcare, education, safe and affordable housing choices, and meaningful employment. The Warrior Mentorship Program connected Dallas-area veterans, service members, and spouses (Pros) with business professionals (Mentors) for a year-long mentorship. Mentors and Pros were paired based on career objectives, background, and professional experience. The goals of the mentorship program were defined between Mentors and Pros through regular discussions and meetings, and a personalized action plan created and implemented to achieve those goals. Pairing Pros with Mentors created a network of support outside the standard channels, enabling the Pro to reach his or her full potential while transitioning into corporate careers. The Warrior Mentorship Program was a competitive program with a limited number of Pro openings, so it is important to complete the application. The application was used to evaluate strength as a candidate as well as assist Allies in Service in finding the best possible Mentor. All Pros participate in a program orientation, mock interview, monthly meetings, and one-on-one mentoring with a designated Mentor. Allies in Service Mentors act as an extra set of eyes and ears for our Pros as they establish career goals, seek professional development opportunities, network, and negotiate employment offers. Any veteran, service member, or their spouse who has honorably served in any branch of service was eligible to apply for the program as a Pro. All of this was made possible with the sponsorship of large national businesses like Microsoft Corp, and local employers providing maintenance and similar services. What they all share is commitment to the cause and the values of the foundation. A full list of sponsors and further information on the future of the program and the organization to follow along with the fresh website shortly, so please stay tuned.

Grace After Fire

Grace After Fire was first started as The Women’s Heart by Stephanie Moles in 2002, with a focus on increasing access to healthcare services for women Veterans, especially those who struggled with drug and alcohol abuse.

Over time, the leadership of the organization transitioned from Stephanie Moles to retired Air Force Colonel Kim Olson, then to US Navy Veteran Mea Williams.

As Grace After Fire matured, the focus of the organization shifted from the challenges of the woman Veterans to the empowerment of the woman Veteran.  Grace After Fire’s mission became centered on helping the woman Veteran help herself by connecting her with the resources and the tools she needs to be a productive citizen in her community, her work and her home after transitioning from the military.

Ever since 2008, Grace After Fire has been serving the Veteran community by providing community resource navigation services, social events, and annual retreats to women Veterans and their families.  In 2012, Grace After Fire launched the Table Talk Color Me Camo peer-to-peer support group programming designed specifically for women Veterans, and in 2017, Grace After Fire began providing financial basic needs assistance to women Veterans and her family.

The mission of Grace After Fire is to provide the means for women Veterans to gain knowledge, insight and self-renewal.

Lone Survivor Foundation

OUR HISTORY

Retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell’s #1 New York Times bestseller, Lone Survivor, tells the story of his teammate’s strength and dedication to each other and to their country during ORW, a mission to gather intelligence on Taliban leadership in Afghanistan. Marcus was the only survivor of this 2005 mission. Though he was badly injured in the ambush that claimed the lives of his team, he survived until American forces rescued him six days later.

Marcus Luttrell’s Texas ranch was the center of his post-combat recovery.  It was there that he learned that effective healing can require more than the standard government treatment plan of talk therapy and medication.  He wanted other military families to have the opportunity to step out of their daily routines and come to a place of peace; a place where they could obtain tools for healing while being surrounded by other people who understand them.  Marcus founded Lone Survivor Foundation in 2010 to provide that opportunity while honoring the warriors that gave their lives in service to our country in ORW.

MISSION

Lone Survivor Foundation’s mission is to provide Veterans and their families with a path to healing from their invisible wounds.

VISION AND GOALS

Build 3 – 4 nationally recognized therapeutic program facilities to allow us to better fulfill our mission and serve our growing waiting list of service members, veterans and families in need.

Stabilize and enhance family structures and relationships through education, counseling, support, and inspiration using short-term and referral programs.

Inspire and motivate Americans to recognize and offer support, mentorship, and care for our wounded service members, veterans and their families.

Love Hope Ranch

RESTORING HERO’s & REUNITING THE FAMILY

The most painful injuries are not always visible.  Whether it’s Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), combat stress or any other mental health condition, we are here to help you get through it.  Every veteran and 1st responder affected by PTS has unique challenges and goals.  We provide a variety of programs and services to help these individuals take the steps each day needed to put trauma and pain behind them and pursue a brighter tomorrow.

LOVE HOPE RANCH operates to provide tools for healing and restoration for the entire family.  Our programs will allow our veterans the opportunity to make strides to positively change their lives and others affected by PTS.  Our program model addresses the physical and mental health needs of each individual.

Are you someone affected by or experiencing PTS? Can you imagine your life free from fear and anxiety? Know that PTS does not have to be a lifelong disorder. Healing, Restoration and Recovery is possible.

This program is fully funded by donors and grants through our 501(c)3. There will be no cost for the veteran and family.

LOVE HOPE RANCH

Restoration camp gives the guests and family members the tools to overcome the obstacles they face in life.  In an all-male, all-female, couples retreat or youth camp, you’ll participate in activities such as interacting with horses, nature trail walking, fishing, camp fire sessions, outdoor cooking, scavenger hunts and more.  Through a multi-day adventure with PTSD trained professionals and fellow warriors, you’ll find yourself not only building strong relationships, but also healing, restoring your sense of self, and rediscovering a new YOU.

EQUINE THERAPY

Horses have been used as healing therapy since ancient times. The beauty and spirit of these animals is very much like our own: rough, strong, ready to run great lengths for freedom, however calm and peaceful inside. Through this therapy we will find a sense of peace, love, friendship, trust, and unity with our animal companion.

YOUTH OUTREACH

Our Youth Program offers fun filled options for your child to make memories that will last for a lifetime. We make time for outdoor fun, art creation, healing moments with Jesus’ teaching, self-development, athletic obstacles for team building, and more.

MARRIAGE RESTORATION

Trauma affects everyone in its path. It is vital that we understand that this state of mind is only temporary. By learning to embrace each other’s needs thru grace, patience and forgiveness, we can bring back the peace, love and spark that you once had within your relationship.

RELAXATION & TRANQUILITY

Our minds and bodies tend to get away from us at times. In order to regain control and find inner peace, we must enter a state of relaxation. The quiet and stillness is critical for our mind, body and soul to align. Are we really out of control, or do we just feel like it?

We are the only one in control of our thoughts and feelings, so it is up to us to maintain a healthy body and sound mind. With a little restoration and polish, you can feel brand new. With a little vulnerability and trust, you step out of the dark loop of trauma that plays over and over.
